Mary “O” Esparza was born and raised in Altus Oklahoma. Is the youngest of 8 children. Hobbies include :  scrapbooking, reading, traveling and spending time with family, friends, and her dogs-Golden Retriever “Snowball”, and White Labrador “Princess”.  Favorite music includes Mazz, Bobby Pulido, Siggno, Grupo Montez, Solido, and Los Cardenales.

Education: 1988 Altus High School graduate. Attended Western Oklahoma State College and the University of Oklahoma majoring in Elementary Education and Spanish.

Employment: Radio broadcasting for over 10 years. Job responsibilities include: news director, radio sales and production,  on-air radio personality for 3 stations, KWHW 1450 AM, KRKZ 93.5 FM, and KQTZ 105.9 FM. Hosts “El Sonido Mexicano” on KQTZ, every Sunday Night from 5:30 to midnight, the only bilingual radio program in Southwest Oklahoma, and North Texas. Past jobs include; the Financial Development Officer for the Southwest Ok. Chapter of the American Red Cross and youth minister for the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus.

Community activities include: Harvest for the Hungry Food Campaign, President of the Altus Hispanic Association, City of Altus Easter Egg Hunt, Altus Christmas Parade Committee, KWHW’s annual Beautiful Baby Contest, the Golden Years Expo, Southwest Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross board member, Jackson County Health Action Team member, Celebrity council member for Oklahoma Regional Food Bank, and organizes the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, as well as Hispanic Heritage Month events.
